Late cancellation $100 Cancellations within 24 hours of your session. We do our best to reschedule. What the rate covers ## Why this practice is _self-pay_. A session is $250, paid directly. That covers a full clinical hour with Maria, not an intake coordinator, not a rotating associate, not a therapist assigned to you by a directory. Thirty years of practice, [EMDR certification](/emdr-therapy), and marriage and family training are what you are actually paying for, and they are the reason most people arrive here after trying something cheaper first. In practice it works like this: you pay for sessions as you go, you receive a superbill (monthly, or at whatever interval suits you), and you submit it to your insurer under your out-of-network benefit. Many PPO plans then reimburse a percentage of the fee once your out-of-network deductible is met. Before you assume there is nothing there, call the number on your card and ask two questions: do I have out-of-network outpatient mental health coverage, and what is my out-of-network deductible. Those two answers tell you almost everything about what therapy will actually cost you. Under the No Surprises Act you also have the right to a Good Faith Estimate of expected costs, in writing, at the start of care. Ask and it is provided. Life happens, and Maria would always rather move a session than lose it, if something comes up, reach out early and rescheduling within the same week is usually possible. Cost quietly becoming the reason someone stops coming is the worst version of this, it is far better to adjust the spacing of sessions, set a shorter and more focused course of work, or be pointed toward a good lower-fee clinician. Maria will have that conversation honestly, and she will tell you directly if she thinks another therapist is the better fit.
