Today it is one of Broward's newest suburbs: planned neighborhoods west of Flamingo Road, corporate campuses along Miramar Parkway, and a population that largely came from somewhere else, another state, another country, another life stage. That produces a specific kind of anxiety. Not the anxiety of something dramatic going wrong, but the anxiety of carrying a whole life without the scaffolding you grew up with.
